INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis man convicted of the 2015 murder of Jordan White was sentenced Wednesday to 85 years in prison.

Antonio Merritt, 43, was convicted of the October 22, 2015, shooting in June.

Police had arrived on the scene to find 23-year-old White fatally shot at a home near the intersection of 9th and Tuxedo Streets.

Prosecutors told witnesses they believed the shooting stemmed from an argument over illegal drugs.

On Wednesday, a Marion County judge sentenced Merritt to 85 years in the Indiana Department of Correction. That sentence includes a 20-year habitual offender enhancement.
