LAWRENCE, Ind. -- A man was arrested Friday in connection with package thefts in the northeastern part of Lawrence.
Detectives say several of the theft reports mentioned a white man driving a black Ford Taurus with tape covering one of the taillights.
A Lawrence police officer happened to notice a similar vehicle parked at a mobile home community on the far eastern edge of the city.
Witnesses identified a picture of the Taurus as being the same vehicle they saw in their neighborhood when their packages were being stolen.
Detectives searched the residence where the Taurus was registered and say they discovered items that had been reported stolen on December 13.
According to police, Michael Allison, 30, of Lawrence admitted to stealing packages from several homes after they had been delivered.
