INDIANAPOLIS -- An arrest warrant has been issued for the man police say stole thousands of dollars’ worth of furniture  from a Broad Ripple nonprofit on October 23.

Jerry Gammon is preliminarily charged with burglary and theft, but has not yet been arrested.

Indianapolis Metro Police identified him after Joy’s House, an adult day care, shared video of the alleged theft on their Facebook page.

The man, captured on surveillance video, used a U-Haul to take wicker chairs and a fall mum.

Court and jail records show Gammon has been in and out of jail for theft and other charges.

Call 6 Investigates spoke with Joy’s House worker Marquita Henderson Saturday night.

She had not heard about the arrest warrant.

“That’s great they got him,” said Henderson. “Hopefully it won’t happen to anyone else and he won’t bother anyone. It’s unfortunate it happened to us.”

Henderson hopes others will learn a lesson.

“We work really hard for what we have so, just don’t take what’s not yours,” said Henderson.
