INDIANAPOLIS -- Three people were killed in apparently unrelated incidents – and a fourth was critically wounded in a drive-by shooting – during a deadly 24-hour period Sunday.
The first call came in around 3:45 a.m. Sunday, when officers were dispatched to The Villas apartment complex on the north side.
Police arrived to find a victim in a parking lot shot multiple times. Across the street, at the Viewpointe Apartment complex, a maroon Impala was found set on fire.
Police believe the shooting and the vehicle arson are related.

The Marion County Coroner’s office identified the victim in that shooting Monday afternoon as 35-year-old Erodney Davis. The cause of death was listed as multiple gunshot wounds to the head, neck and shoulders.
Just 15 minutes after the call at The Villas, police were called to the 5600 block of Abercromby Circle on a report of a person shot.
Upon arrival they discovered 27-year-old Timothy Womack with an apparent gunshot wound.
Womack was transported to Eskenazi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Just before midnight Sunday, police were again called to the west side, this time for a report of a possible drive-by shooting.
Officers learned 18-year-old Rondell Allen, a standout football player at Ben Davis High School, had been in a car at the entrance to the Heather Ridge Apartments when someone opened fire from another vehicle.

Allen was seriously injured, but two other 16-year-old’s in his vehicle were unharmed.
While police in the northwest district were investigating Allen’s shooting, on the south side, SWAT officers had been requested in the 4600 block of Glastonbury Court in an unrelated case.
Police had found a victim, 35-year-old Wilson Hernandez, fatally stabbed and believed they were in pursuit of the suspect. SWAT was requested because the suspect was thought to be holed up in a nearby apartment.
Unfortunately, police said, the suspect was not able to be located.
