INDIANAPOLIS -- The body of a woman was discovered on Indianapolis' east side Friday morning.
Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 800 block of N. Rural Street around 7 a.m.
A neighbor spotted the body as she was coming outside to take her child to school.
Police said 26-year-old Candice Pigee, who was suffering from apparent gunshot trauma, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives believe she was likely shot sometime late Thursday night or early Friday morning.

Officers said they do not have any reliable suspect information at this time.
