INDIANAPOLIS -- A burglar broke into Meridian-Kessler’s Delicia restaurant overnight, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
According to a police report, the burglary happened shortly before 2 a.m. Friday.
A male suspect reportedly made entry to the store and then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. No suspect description was immediately available.
A spokeswoman for Delicia said it had been a “very long day,” but declined to comment further about the burglary.
The restaurant, which opened in March 2013, offers "New Latin Cuisine" and cocktails and has proven to be a popular dining choice in the "SoBro" neighborhood.
IMPD records show there have been just under two dozen burglaries reported within a mile radius of the restaurant so far this year, but only one other burglary involved a business – the Little Caesar’s Pizza at the intersection of 49th Street and College Avenue, which reported a burglary on Jan. 8.
