Cars hit by tires, rocks thrown off Raymond Street bridge

INDIANAPOLIS -- Two people caused an estimated $1,500-worth of damage Thursday when they threw rocks and tires at cars from the Raymond Street bridge over Madison Avenue.

The incident happened shortly after 10 p.m. at the bridge where Raymond Street crosses over Madison Avenue – just a short distance northwest of Garfield Park on the south side.

According to the police report, two suspects – at least one of whom is believed to be a juvenile – wearing black hoodies threw tires and rocks off of the overpass, striking cars below.

At least two vehicles, a 2000 Buick Regal and a 2015 Kia Optima, received an estimated $1,500-worth of damage from the falling objects.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
