Former Purdue football star shot to death in KFC/Taco Bell parking lot in Virginia

HAMPTON, Va. -- A former Purdue football player was shot and killed in a restaurant parking lot in Virginia late Wednesday evening.

According to WVEC-TV, Eric Wardell Hunter, 45, was found shot to death in the parking lot of the Kentucky Fried Chicken and Taco Bell located in Hampton, Virginia.

The motive and circumstances surrounding Hunter’s death remain under investigation.

Hunter was a regular quarterback for the Purdue Boilermakers for four seasons between 1989 and 1992.
