GREENSBURG, Ind. -- Greensburg police arrested a registered sex offender Thursday on allegations he had been attempting to contact children over social media.
James Browning, 45, had allegedly been attempting to contact juvenile females through a social media app, according to the Greensburg Police Department.
Browning is a registered offender against children who was convicted on two counts of child seduction in February 2010 and two separate counts of child molesting in November 2010.
He was required to register on the Indiana Sex Offender Registry following his release in March 2013.
Greensburg police said a detective posed as one of the juveniles Browning was allegedly attempting to contact.
On Thursday, officers arrested Browning at his residence in Greensburg and placed him into custody at the Decatur County Jail.
