INDIANAPOLIS – Gunfire erupted at a northwest side apartment complex overnight, striking multiple units and vehicles but fortunately causing no injuries.
Police were called to the Lakes of Georgetown apartments in the 6300 block of Sandyside Drive, near the intersection of 62nd Street and Georgetown Road, around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday.
Upon arrival they heard from multiple residents that bullets had struck their apartments.
According to the incident report, at least six people were inside the units at the time of the shooting, including at least two juveniles.
Bullets also struck three cars in the parking lot.
No injuries were reported as a result of the shooting.
Witnesses described seeing two unknown suspects just prior to the shooting, but weren’t able to provide a detailed description.
The apartment’s property manager said maintenance was still working to determine how many units were struck by bullets and the extent of the damage.
