INDIANAPOLIS POLICE ARE ASKING FOR THE PUBLIC'S HELP TO LOCATE THE VEHICLE AND DRIVER INVOLVED IN A FATAL HIT-AND-RUN THURSDAY EVENING. — INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis police are asking for the public's help to locate the vehicle and driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run Thursday evening.

Indianpaolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the scene around 7:15 p.m. on SR 135 near Thompson Road for a report of a "person down." Responding officers located a man along the side of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives believe the man was struck by an SUV that was traveling northbound on SR 135. The driver fled the scene after hitting the man and did not stop to help.

The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 2003-2008 Honda Pilot. The vehicle would have front-end damage near the grill area and windshield.
