IMPD finds drugs, rifle inside Indy Northeast side home

INDIANAPOLIS – Nearly 45 grams of drugs and a rifle were found by IMPD during a parole check on the city’s northeast side Wednesday, police said.

Just before 11 a.m. IMPD officers visited a home in the 2800 block of Flap Lane for a parole check after locating signs of narcotics dealing.

Matthew Turner, 31, was arrested after detectives found drugs and a gun in the home including:

• 3-5 grams of crack cocaine

• 40 grams of marijuana

• Digital scale

• Marijuana Bong

• $372

• 1 loaded AK 47 style 7.62 caliber rifle magazine

Turner was arrested and preliminarily charged with dealing cocaine, possession of cocaine, dealing marijuana, possession of marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of paraphernalia.

He was on parole for possession of a firearm by serious violent felon.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case and make a final charging decision
