INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Airport police arrested a man Monday afternoon for allegedly taking a knife to more than a half dozen vehicles in the economy parking lot.

Daniel Geiger, 34, faces preliminary charges of criminal mischief, auto theft, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana after police arrested him in possession of a knife near vandalized vehicles in the airport's economy parking lot.

Police located Geiger near the lot after a report was called in, and took him into custody following a short chase.

Eight cars were found to have had one or more tires slashed. In all, police estimated about $1,600-worth of damage was done.

As of Tuesday morning, Geiger was still being held at the Marion County Jail awaiting bail hearing.
