INDIANAPOLIS – A man has died after being shot early Saturday on Indianapolis’ southeast side.

According to a police report, William Zweck, 49, shot an 18-year-old man near the intersection of Little Leaf Place and Little Leaf Place Circle in the Hickory Knoll mobile home park around 2 a.m.

Witnesses said the victim was shot in the head transported to Eskenazi Hospital where he later died. He's been identified as Kodi Pruner.

Friends of the victim said he was looking for a lost cell phone right before he was shot by Zweck, who they said is the victim's uncle. They believe it was an accident.

"It's devastating, especially happening in our neighborhood where nothing happens like that we're wondering why there's gunshots going off," said Zachary Rees, the victim's friend.

Zweck was arrested on a preliminary  charge of aggravated battery

Police said detectives are investigating the case.
