Man robbed, shot at while trying to buy marijuana at north side apartment complex

INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis man told police he was robbed and shot at Thursday night while trying to buy marijuana at a north side apartment complex.

Police were called to the Meridian Lakes Apartments in the 7300 block of Meridian Hills Court, near the intersection of 73rd Street and Hoover Road, just before midnight Thursday.

The man, a 19-year-old, told police he was attempting to buy weed from a 17-year-old he only knew as "Joshua" when the teen allegedly robbed him at gunpoint.

The victim told police "Joshua" fired shots at him while he was fleeing the scene. He was not struck in the shooting, and reported no other injuries.

The victim told police two other men were also present during the robbery. No detailed description was immediately available for any of the suspects.
