INDIANAPOLIS -- A man was shot while leaving a west side check cashing business Friday during an apparent robbery attempt.
The shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. at the Intercall Check Cashed store on the 2600 block of West Washington Street.
According to police, the victim was coming out of the business when a suspect approached him from behind and shot him in the lower right side.
The victim then ran to the nearby Auto Zone for help.
As of 4:45 p.m., the victim was not believed to have sustained life-threatening injuries.
A possible suspect was taken into custody by police.
