HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. – A man is wanted by police for allegedly driving while drunk and causing a fatal accident in March.
Detectives with Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana said Jason Phelps failed to appear in court after he was charged with two felony counts.
Police said Phelps crashed into a house in Greenfield on March 4, killing his passenger, 47-year-old Dalen Charron. According to court documents, Phelps initially tried to say he was not driving, but a medic who was one of the first on the scene said otherwise.
Phelps was convicted in 2001 for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a prior. In 2007, he was convicted of operating while intoxicated causing death.
If you have any information on where Phelps is located, call Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS.
