HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. – What began as a home burglary investigation in Hancock County, led police on a high speed chase Friday morning.
After a home burglary in Hancock County occurred shortly before 11 a.m., police began to follow the suspect’s vehicle, which turned into a 20-minute chase spanning northeast Marion County into the Lawrence area.
Officers said the suspect led the chase into parts of Lawrence at speeds up to 90 miles per hour.
Police used several stop sticks to capture the suspect at 10th Street and German Church Road. Before the suspect was arrested, he suffered several dog bites during a brief foot chase.
In addition, one officer was nipped on the finger by a K9.
The suspect, who has not been identified, was placed on a stretcher and transported to the hospital by ambulance.
