INDIANAPOLIS -- A man was shot and killed outside an apartment building on Indianapolis' east Thursday evening.
The shooting happened outside the Pheasant Run Apartments on Penobscot Drive sometime before 6 p.m.
When police arrived they found a 21-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers on the scene say witnesses reported hearing three shots fired. They also reported seeing a dark colored pickup truck leave the scene.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
