INDIANAPOLIS -- A man was shot and killed in a garage on Indianapolis' west side Friday evening.
The shooting happened in the 5900 block of Bertha Street around 5:30 p.m.
Police found Joseph Goodin, 32, unresponsive inside a garage attached to a home in the area. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
When Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officers arrived on the scene they said witnesses had Derrick Walbert, 23, detained.
During the investigation, police say Walbert admitted to detectives that he had shot the victim.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
