INDIANAPOLIS -- A woman died after she was shot inside a vehicle on the city's northeast side Wednesday evening, police say.
The shooting happened around the 2300 block of East Adams Street just after 6 p.m.
Police were called for a vehicle accident. When they arrived they found Jessica Downey, 21. She had been shot while in the driver's seat. Her vehicle had hit another, causing minor damage.
She was taken to Methodist Hospital in extremely critical condition, police said. Downey died Thursday afternoon.
Police believe her death is related to the death of her boyfriend, 20-year-old Evans Johnson. Johnson was found dead Wednesday night in the 2400 block of N. Oxford Street. He had been shot multiple times.
