INDIANAPOLIS -- One man was killed Sunday night on Indianapolis' northeast side.
Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called shortly after 8 p.m. to the Cottages of Fall Creek Apartment Complex in 6800 block of E. 56th Street for a report of a person shot.
A man with a gunshot wound was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers also saw a man and two other people in a vehicle. All were detained and questioned.
Police say they learned that a man and woman had arrived with the victim to meet with another man in the parking lot of the apartment complex.
No arrests have been made and the victim's name has not been released.
The investigation by police is ongoing.
This was the 144th homicide in Indianapolis in 2016.
