Police find blood & hair, but no people, inside car crashed in apparent hit-and-run

INDIANAPOLIS -- Police found blood and hair on the windshield of a vehicle involved in an apparent hit-and-run early Monday morning, but the car's driver and passenger were nowhere to be found.

The collision occurred sometime around 2:00 a.m. on the 600 block of North Tibbs Avenue.

Based on evidence at the scene, police believe the driver of a black 2010 Dodge Journey crashed into a telephone pole and then fled the scene.

Inside the vehicle, police found blood and hair in a large depression in the passenger side windshield. No passenger was found in the vehicle or the immediate area.

At least one of the people involved in the crash is believed to be a woman. No other description was available.
