WAYNE COUNTY, Ind. -- A traffic stop in Wayne County on Wednesday yielded five vials of PCP, according to the Hancock County Sheriff's Department.
The stop occurred shortly before 10 a.m. on eastbound I-70 in Wayne County. The stop was conducted by a member of the Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement (PACE) Team, which is a multi-jurisdictional task force that patrols I-70 in Wayne, Henry and Hancock counties.
According to the department, the deputy stopped the vehicle after observing it following too closely on the interstate. A K-9 officer from the Henry County Sheriff's Department arrived to assist in the investigation after the initial deputy spotted "multiple indicators of criminal activity" and detected the odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle turned up a small amount of marijuana, along with five glass vials of PCP totaling approximately 15 ounces.
A passenger inside the vehicle, Keesha Brown, 20, of Kansas City, Missouri, told officers the vials belonged to her and that they did, in fact, contain PCP.
Brown was arrested on preliminary charges of felony dealing in a schedule I controlled substance.
The driver of the vehicle, 32-year-old Jessica Schader of Fayetteville, Arkansas, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana.
Both women were booked into the Wayne County Jail without incident.
