INDIANAPOLIS -- Two people were killed and a third person was injured after a shooting in Richmond late Friday evening.

Officers with the Richmond Police Department responded to the home in the 100 block of Richmond Avenue just before midnight for a report of a shooting.

When they arrived they found two victims, identified as Bishop Oliver and Shawn Sams, lying on the front porch. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third man, identified as Chris Crawley, was also shot and was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators believe the two men who were killed were involved in a verbal argument which escalated into a shooting. It is unclear at this time if the third man who was shot was involved in that argument.

The shooting remains under investigation by the Richmond Police Department.
