WAYNE TOWNSHIP, Ind. – While responding to a fire call, a Wayne Township fire truck was involved in a hit-and-run accident.
The fire truck was struck by a dark blue Dodge Durango while driving southbound on High School Road near 21st Street.
Capt. Michael Pruitt said the Durango lost control as it came out of a curve and struck the front left of the fire engine. The vehicle proceeded to strike a second northbound vehicle that had come to a stop for the fire engine.
Pruitt said the driver of the Durango did not stop and continued to 21st Street.
The driver of the Durango was described as a black male wearing a high visibility reflective vest. The vehicle also had a window mount flag and front end damage.
