WESTFIELD, Ind. – A woman was injured after a man entered her Westfield home with a gun and demanded money Friday evening.

Westfield police said the woman’s husband left the home on Markleville Lane around 8:15 p.m., but left the garage door open.

Less than 15 minutes later, the woman called her husband to tell him a white male in his early 20s entered the home. She also said he was clean shaven, medium build, about 5 feet, 10 inches and dressed in dark sunglasses with a blue hooded sweatshirt.

After demanding the money, police said the man struck the woman in the head with a cooking pan two times then left the home.

Police said her injuries were not life threatening.
