INDIANAPOLIS -- A woman was killed by a hit-and-run driver on Indianapolis' southwest side Friday evening.
The crash happened just before 7 p.m. near the intersection of Holt Road and Sam Jones Expressway.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers said Karen Turner, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are still searching for a gray or silver Mitsubishi SUV with front-end damage that may be connected to the crash.
The accident remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
