Police are on the scene after a customer who was carrying a concealed weapon shot a suspected bank robber in Warren, Michigan.
It happened at a Citizen's Bank on Monday. Around 4 p.m. a robber demanded money from the teller and was given the money.
That's when a customer reportedly shot the suspect several times just outside the bank.
The suspect is identified as a 43-year-old African-American man. He was shot three times, in both arms and a leg, by a 63-year-old customer who has a concealed weapons license.
The suspect is being treated at a hospital. His condition isn't known, but his injuries are not considered life threatening.
The customer who shot a robber three times Monday afternoon, returned to the scene to get his car hours later.
The 63-year old CPL holder didn't go into details about what happened, but told 7 Action News, "It could have been a whole lot worse."
Police say the 43-year suspect entered the bank around 4:15pm, and tried getting away with the money before he was shot in the leg and arm.
Greg Novoselsky claims he had a strange encounter with the suspect moments before he went inside the bank.
"He was walking by like this, holding his pants up, and then the pistol fell out, and when he seen I seen the pistol, and he looked at me and said keep my (ugh) mouth shut," Novoselsky says.
Investigators remained on scene for more than five hours. Bullet holes labeled up to 10 could be seen in the front windows of the bank.
Gary Guiette, a witness who took photos moments after the robbery, says maybe this would make criminals think twice about robbery.
As for Novoselsky, he was in disbelief how everything unfolded after his meeting with the suspect.
"The way it just happened, as soon as I called 911, you could hear the sirens and then the police show up, he's on the ground, money blowing everywhere."
