This is what the Christmas season is all about.
The above video, viewed 21 million times and counting, depicts a grandfather who seeks to bring his family back together, despite their aging and growing into their own lives.
The grandfather eats dinner alone on Christmas multiple times after his family tells him they can't make it, but that it "will work out next year."
The family then gets messages of the grandfather's death, to which they come together and travel to his home.
But they find an unexpected sight: The table set and the Christmas tree lit, with the grandfather alive and well.
Of the surprise, he says, "How else could I have brought you all together, Mmh?"
It's a real tear jerker.
The video is an advertisement for a German grocery chain, but the message is universal across the globe.
