Clarksburg woman announced dead after an apparent drowning at Pipe Creek

FRANKLIN COUNTY — Carol Jackson, 63, was reported dead this afternoon after her car was swept away by a creek on Monday night.

Franklin County dispatchers received a call from a man at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 31 that his wife's car was filling with water and being swept away.

The Clarksburg woman's body had been missing for hours before the Indiana Conservation Officers located, first her car, then her body around 3:30 p.m.

Jackson was the wife of Pastor Jerran Jackson of Clarksburg Christian Church.

An autopsy is scheduled for late this week, with the death still under investigation.
