A major project in Lawrence is picking up speed.
On Friday, officials held a groundbreaking for a new $15 million transportation center for Lawrence Township schools. It will be located in the 10000 block of East 52nd Street.
The transportation department is currently housed on Thunderbird Road in a facility designed to house and service about 100 buses but right now it handles an overload of more than 200.
