INDIANAPOLIS — We may be in pandemic mode, but fishing isn't off-limits in Indiana — and this weekend will be the perfect chance to get out and enjoy a day at the lake.
The first "Free Fishing Day" in Indiana for 2020 is this Sunday, May 3.
Last month, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources announced four Free Fishing Days for the 2020.
Those dates are:
- May 3
- June 6
- June 7
- Sept. 26
On those four days, Indiana residents can fish public waters without a fishing license or a trout stamp.
Children ages 17 and younger do not need a license on any day of the year.
DNR had also planned multiple Learn to Fish workshops around the state, but because of the pandemic those dates and times may change.
