INDIANAPOLIS – A young boy, who recently underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health, was paid a visit Tuesday by officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department after they heard about his aspirations to join law enforcement.

Drake, from Warsaw, Indiana, has dreams of becoming a police officer when he grows up.

His parents were brought to tears when IMPD Northwest District Community Relations Unit surprised Drake at Riley with several items, including an IMPD model police car, police shirt, hat and an official IMPD patch.

Drake was not able to speak during the visit, but he gave several thumbs up.
