INDIANAPOLIS — CVS is planning to hire 150 people to fill positions in the Indianapolis area as the pharmacy company prepares for an increase in demand as peak flu season collides with another wave of COVID-19.

To fill positions, the company will hold virtual hiring events on Thursday, Oct. 22 and Thursday, Nov. 12.

CVS will hire 15,000 new employees nationwide. About 10,000 of the new roles will be for full- and part-time licensed pharmacy technicians. New employees in the Indianapolis area will include pharmacists, nurse practitioners and distribution center employees.

A news release from the company said the additional staff will bolster COVID-19 testing efforts at its 4,000 drive-thru testing locations and prepare for the possibility of administering the coronavirus vaccine.
