NOBLESVILLE — Students are able to discover their passions, confidence and voice in a real-world situation through a unique Noblesville internship program.
More than 300 seniors at Noblesville High School are currently taking part in the intern program.
"Our goal is to make them marketable and more competitive in the long run as they pursue their pathway," Alaina Shonwiler, Workforce Development Coordinator said.
Students can leave school for up to three hours every other day for their internships.
The Chamber of Commerce says students that are part of the program are offering new insight to local businesses.
"Things like social media that are probably not on the radar screen of most businesses a decade ago, now they have to do something and they're not sure what to do," Bob Dubois with the Chamber of Commerce said. "These students are helping those businesses work through all of those ideas."
Through the internship program students are able to grow their soft skills, which include responsibility, initiative and confidence.
