PUTNAM COUNTY — Mark Timm is what you call a serial entrepreneur.

The Putnam County native has built and grown several businesses over the years and attributes his success to his life growing up on the farm and having the right mentors to guide him along the way.

"I am a farm boy from Fillmore, Indiana. Fillmore, Indiana is west of Indianapolis about 45 minutes," Timm said. "I attribute just about all of my success to actually what I learned on the family farm and mentors: hard-work, value of a dollar and responsibility. It's applicable to anything you do in life."

Timm teamed up with Shark Tank legend Kevin Harrington to author his first book, Mentor to Millions.

The book itself is not a guide to become rich, the millions, rather is about impacting millions of people.

Harrington and Timm both met through their shared mentor and together have become mentors, allowing their business know-how to expand well beyond their reach.

"Kevin is the original shark. He was the first one who was selected on Shark Tank," Timm said. "Kevin found himself in a spot where he wanted to help more people than he could even invest in and so when he left, he started down this path of mentorship and legacy."

Timm says that in the book they not only delve into the power of mentors and business ideals, but they also share in each chapter how you can apply these same principles to your life away from the office.

"So the undercurrent of the book is not just business success, it's relationships and beyond because we believe that the most valuable business you'll ever own, ever operate, ever even get the chance to be a part of, is the one you are going home to not the one you go to every day," Timm said.
