JENNINGS CO. — Decatur Plastics Products announced plans of expanding operations in Jennings County on Thursday. The manufacturer's expansion will create up to 70 new jobs by the year 2021.

The North Vernon based company manufacturers custom plastic parts and components. They manufacture for several industries, including automotive, consumer products, medical, electronics and more. Decatur Plastics Products has operations in both Indiana and Alabama, and currently employs 185 full-time associates in Indiana.

To support the company's increased production, Decatur Plastic Products has already started hiring and plans to add new positions in engineering, production, and management.

The company says it will invest $11.4 million over the next five years to expand its headquarters and production operations. It is adding 100,000 square feet to its campus, equipping a recently purchased 50,000 square foot building in North Vernon Industrial Park which will house additional warehousing and accommodate light assembly.

The company is set to be done with its new building by the end of July and plans to construct another building right next to the recently purchased warehouse. The construction of that building is predicted to be done by summer 2020.

Interested applicants are asked to apply in person at the company's headquarters, 2350 N. State Highway 7, or email a resume to hr@decaturplastics.com.
