Indiana State Police looking for capitol officer recruits

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Police is looking for recruits who want to patrol the Statehouse.

People who are interested in working as a capitol police officer can apply online. Applications must be received by 11:59 p.m. Wednesday July 10.

To be considered, applicants must be a United States citizen, at least 21 years old by Dec. 27 when the job begins, meet a minimum vision standard of 20/50 sight in both eyes, have a valid driver's license and be a high school graduate.

Officers who are hired will begin training on Sept. 16, and the starting salary for a Capitol Police Section Probationary Officer is $44,497 a year.
