INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis company is working to break barriers for their employees to make coming to work possible no matter their situation.

Engaging Solutions offers call center solutions, program compliance monitoring, fiscal management and accountability, diversity services and stakeholder engagement strategies to a variety of clients.

Through these different avenues, Engaging Solutions hires a wide variety of candidates and fills jobs in entry-level positions at their call center as well as several types of higher level positions in other areas.

The company employs more than 150 people here in Indy.

There is room for growth within the company, which is a major plus for one of their employees Ronnie Wathome.

Wathome is a team leader and programmer. He spends much of his day writing scripts, programming calls and holding team meetings to go over initiatives for various projects. A lot of his work is behind the scenes in technology and he has been with Engaging Solutions for two years now.

"I moved up very quickly," Wathome said. "As long as you've got a great work ethic."

Wathome credits the culture at Engaging Solutions for much of his success in the workplace.

"They've helped me so much. My manager last week came out to my apartment and he helped me fix the starter on my car," Wathome said. "Also I had a couple of speeding tickets that I accrued myself and the company helped me pay those off so I could get back to driving the right way."

Engaging Solutions has several ways to combat the barrier of transportation issues that face their employees. In the past, the company has purchased and distributed IndyGo passes for employees to help them get to work. They also provide AAA memberships and have created carpools to help employees get to work on time.

"Using money from their pockets to help out one of their employees, I was ecstatic about that," Wathome said. "It was probably the kindest thing anyone or any company has ever done for me."

Tammy Butler, managing principal at Engaging Solutions, said the team got together to brainstorm solutions to problems facing their employees, especially those in the entry-level positions.

"As we connect together they help us succeed, we help them succeed," Butler said. "We also partner with organizations like Dress for Success making sure that our employees feel good both inside and out. We also make sure that if you have transportation barriers that we are identifying ways whether its through carpooling, whether its through bus passes, whether its through paying parking tickets so their drivers license doesn't get suspended and that they are able to get to and from work."

Engaging Solutions helps employees with their professional attire that is often needed when meeting with clients. They started a clothing bank for their employees in the building where people can donate or utilize clothes for the workplace.

The company currently has more than 30 openings for both entry-level and higher paying positions. The entry-level positions are located within their call center with opportunities for growth. The other positions that are more specialized include accountants, auditors and outreach specialists.
