INDIANAPOLIS — Employers are hoping to fill hundreds of open positions during a job fair at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on Wednesday.
The job fair begins at 10 a.m. and goes until 2 p.m. and will be located at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Event Center.
The trick with job fairs is that you only have a few minutes to make a lasting impression. Here's a few ways to make sure that happens:
Dress for Success: Make sure you're wearing business attire that you would wear to a professional job interview.
Practice a Pitch: Practice a quick summary of your skills and experience so you can have a plan to explain why you are the right candidate for the job. Your pitch should be less than a minute long.
Bring Supplies: Make sure you have extra resumes, in case you find more than one potential employer, also a pad of paper and a pen so you can take notes.
Do Your Research: Job fairs tend to have details about which companies are attending listed in advance, so make sure you do your research into any company that might pique your interest.
