LEBANON — A Pennsylvania company that makes packaging products plans to open a plant in Boone County and hire 140 workers.

According to the Boone County Economic Development Corporation, U.S. Corrugated is leasing a building on State Road 39 in Lebanon that used to house ConAgra Foods.

Development Corporation Executive Director Molly Whitehead says the 140 jobs will pay an average of $20 an hour.

U.S. Corrugated makes shipping boxes and packaging supplies at its plants in five states and Mexico.

According to Whitehead, the Lebanon City Council approved a property tax abatement package that will save the company $1.3 million.

She says the facility should be ready by late this year or early 2020 and will reach full employment in two or three years.
