Hiring Hoosiers is a new initiative from RTV6 that works to connect Hoosiers to employment opportunities, career development resources, training programs and educational paths. INDIANAPOLIS — A local community closet is helping men get business attire for internships, jobs, and professional opportunities.

Ascension St. Vincent has been behind the Success Wear program since 2007.

"Workforce development and training and education and even professional attire can be a barrier for someone having access to healthcare," said Michelle Mitchell, program manager of Success Wear.

Israel Ayala, who is heading into his senior year at Warren Central High School, hopes to work in the medical field one day.

"I don't want to be taken as just another teenager," Ayala said. "We want to look professional."

Kyrell Allison will be a junior at Shortridge High School and says he's interested in architecture. He has big dreams he shares with his mom, so this means a lot.

"I want her to able to say 'This is my son and he has his future lined up.' I really want her to see I want to be able to do something with my life when I get older," Allison said.

Both Ayala and Allison will participate in Upward Bound, a college-prep program through IUPUI.

The Upward Bound program is working with 127 students.

Starting June 30, Success Wear will start accepting clothing donations for young and adult men.
