TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. -- An Indianapolis man was killed when he fell while repairing the roof on a two-story apartment building on Thursday.

It happened just after 9:30 a.m. at an apartment complex on Country Squire Court.

The Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office said Alberto Vivanco Dominguez, 34, was working for an Indianapolis-based roofing company that was contracted to replace the roof on the apartment building. Dominguez was working with four other employees, but no one saw him fall. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dominguez was wearing a safety harness at the time of the fall, but deputies say the rope was not attached and had been removed from the harness.

The death remains under investigation by the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office.
