1 dead, 3-month-old among 2 injured in single-vehicle crash in Randolph County

RANDOLPH CO., Ind. – One person was killed and two others injured, including a 3-month-old, in a single-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in Randolph County. 

Makenzie Anderson, 25, of Parker City, Ind., was driving westbound on State Road 32 approaching 1000 W. around 2 a.m. when the Randolph County Sheriff said the vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane and then left the roadway on the south side.

The vehicle traveled the ditch line for approximately 500 feet before striking a cement block and overturning. Deputies found the vehicle on its top when responding to the scene. 

Anderson’s husband, Stephen, 30, was in the front passenger seat and the couple's 3-month-old child was in a child seat at the time of the crash.

Stephen was pronounced dead at the scene.

The child was transported to IU Ball Memorial Hospital then airlifted to Peyton Manning Children's Hospital where the child is listed in critical condition.

Makenzie Anderson was airlifted to Methodist Hospital and also listed in critical condition. 

Sheriff's deputies did not provide a possible cause of the crash.
