1 year later, Clarence Havvard's murder unsolved

Posted

INDIANAPOLIS -- Clarence "Wade" Havvard was shot and killed last August in the Butler-Tarkington Neighborhood. A year later, his murder remains unsolved.

Havvard's father has seven children. Three of them are now dead from shootings across Indianapolis.

Havvard's mother just wants answers for her son's death.

"We just want answers, we want closure," Earnestine Havvard said. "This week we've been so torn apart and so emotional. Wade was so happy, he was so full of life, and for these people to do what they did, they took more than one person – they took a whole family."

IMPD hasn't released any suspect information in Havvard's death, but continues asking for tips in the murder.

Steve Dubois, the director of Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana, says tipsters have helped solve roughly 173 homicides over the past three decades.

Now police are asking for tips to help solve Havvard's murder, as well as the unsolved murder of his brother Clarence Jr. in 2003. An arrest was made in the murder of their third brother, Charles, in 2004.

Anyone with information about these or other homicides should contact Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.
