KOKOMO, Ind. -- Two people were killed and another was injured, including a 2-year-old, in a single- vehicle crash early Saturday morning in Kokomo, Ind.
The crash took place at the intersection of Alto Road and Webster Street.
Juan Carlos Alfaro of Frankfort, Ind. was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt when he struck a traffic control pole at the intersection.
Once Kokomo firefighters arrived, they found the vehicle’s engine on fire.
Trapped inside was passenger 28-year-old Britney Pitzer of Frankfort and a 2-year-old child.
Pitzer was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alfaro was transported to Community Howard Emergency where he later died.
The 2-year-old child was air lifted to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis where he is listed in stable condition.
