HOWARD COUNTY — The sheriff's 21-year-old daughter was killed in a two-vehicle head-on crash in Howard County late Monday evening.
Howard County Sheriff's deputies responded to the crash on US 35 near Howard County Road 80 West just before 10:30 p.m., according to Indiana State Police.
Investigators say Jordan Asher was driving northbound on US 35 when she struck another vehicle head-on that was in the southbound lanes. Investigators have not determined which vehicle crossed the center line to cause the crash. State police say Jordan is Sheriff Jerry Asher's daughter.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Howard County Coroner.
The 48-year-old driver in the second vehicle had to be extricated and was airlifted to Indianapolis for treatment. Her condition is not known at this time.
The crash remains under investigation by Indiana State Police.
The Howard County Sheriff's Office released the following statement Tuesday morning:
