A 24-YEAR-OLD MAN IS DEAD AFTER HE WAS STRUCK BY A TRAIN IN BLOOMINGTON TUESDAY EVENING. — BLOOMINGTON — A 24-year-old man is dead after he was struck by a train in Bloomington Tuesday evening.

Monroe County Coroner Joani Shields says the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of W 3rd Street.

The man, identified as Kevin D. Magee, was walking along the tracks when the train struck him.

Magee's preliminary cause of death is blunt force trauma, although a toxicology test is pending and will take up to three weeks.

Shields says it is still unknown why Magee was on the train tracks.

The accident remains under investigation.
