LAWRENCE, Ind. -- Three suspects were arrested late Sunday night in connection with an armed robbery in Lawrence.

Police were called to the Village Pantry, 5190 N. Franklin Road, just before midnight.

An officer went inside the store and ordered two suspects to surrender.  They were then arrested.

Police say two loaded handguns were found on the counter at the Village Pantry. One of them was reported stolen to IMPD in November 2015.

The store clerks were in a back office and were not hurt.

Officers also arrested a third person who was parked in a vehicle across the road from the Village Pantry.

It's believed that was the car the suspects planned to escape in.

All three suspects have been preliminarily charged with armed robbery.

No names or pictures of the suspects were released because detectives believe they may have been involved in at least one additional armed robbery.
